First the good news, Medi-Cal is NOT changing for many people!

These people can keep Medi-Cal with dental and no premiums, regardless of immigration status:

  • Children (under 19 years old)
  • Current and former foster youth (under 26 years old)
  • Pregnant and post-pregnancy people (up to one year after the end of pregnancy)

Frequently Asked Questions

If I am an adult with Medi-Cal what should I do?

  • If you are already enrolled before January 1, 2026, you can keep your coverage as long as you stay active and renew on time.
  • You have a 90-day grace period to complete your renewal once it’s due.  If you miss the deadline, you will:
  • Find out when your Medi-Cal renewal is due by calling the Medi-Cal Renewal line at 424-405-5909 or 888-999-7671.
  • To learn more about coming changes to Medi-Cal, reference the Department of Health Care Services website.

Tips on how to stay covered

  • Keep your contact information updated so you don’t miss important notices.
  • Watch your mail and respond to renewal packets or letters from your health plan or local county office.
  • Know your renewal date or call UMMA Health to renew your Medi-Cal if you do not receive notifications.
