All Ages

UMMA Community Clinic began as a volunteer-based operation and continues to rely on dedicated individuals of all ages who are willing to share their time and skills. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or just starting out, there are opportunities for everyone to make a positive impact by joining UMMA and serving the needs of the South Los Angeles community.

Opportunities

Volunteer Medical Providers

  • Minimum Commitment = 8 hrs/month
  • Must hold a current CA Medical License
  • Available to commit at least 1+ year
  • Provide record of updated vaccinations
  • Agree to complete online training modules
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
  • Start by completing this application.

Internships

We will work with your institution of higher learning for school credit. We offer Clinical, Behavioral Health, Administrative, Development internships and more!

  • Minimum Commitment = 40 hrs/month
  • All interns must have a TB test updated in the last year.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus

Food Fair Volunteers

UMMA Health distributes over 500,000 lbs of fresh produce to the South LA community, hosting food distribution events every Wednesday. Volunteers are always welcome every Wednesday from 8:30am – 12pm.

UCLA's UMMA Volunteer Project

The UMMA Volunteer Project (UVP) gives UCLA students the opportunity to gain hands-on medical experience in underserved communities.

Applications are available in September. Please follow the Instagram page to receive alerts in for when the application becomes available.

Other Ways to Get Involved

Have limited time but still want to give back? UMMA offers one-time and short-term volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups. You can support our community through health education, fundraisers, health fairs, food distributions, special events, and outreach.
